• Chelan County, in Washington state, has implemented a 29% rate hike for its hydroelectric power for bitcoin mining. Prior to this rate hike, miners received a discounted high-density load rate consistent with businesses.
• Commission board in Clay County, North Carolina, unanimously approved an ordinance that prevents commercial cryptocurrency mining facilities from opening and/or operating in Clay County. The county ultimately determined that mining was detrimental to the county’s way of life.
